SEO visibility
Getting found when somebody is looking for you.
Not with tricks and not with a hundred keywords in the copy – but by making your page answer the question somebody typed. What that means exactly, I explain here before I sell you anything.
- You get the figures, not just a report
- 3 months minimum term, then 3 months at a time
- Also for websites somebody else built
- No ranking guarantees – there is no such thing
Briefly explained
What SEO actually is
SEO stands for “search engine optimisation”. Behind it sits a single question: can somebody find you who is looking for exactly what you offer – without knowing your name?
Anyone typing “Friseur Müller” finds you anyway. The interesting ones are the others: the people typing “women’s haircut Graz Saturday” who do not yet know you exist. For them, the first few results decide where they go.
SEO is the work of appearing there. Not through advertising you pay for per click, but through the site itself – and it keeps working afterwards, even when you have no budget just now.
The difference from advertising
With Google Ads you pay for every click. Stop paying and you are gone the same day. That is not a drawback – it works immediately, and sometimes that is exactly right.
SEO works more slowly, often only after months. In return it stays. A page in third place is still there next Tuesday without anyone releasing a budget. Both together usually makes more sense than either alone – which is why I also do campaigns.
The most common misunderstanding
“Surely you just have to fit in enough keywords”
That was true once – about fifteen years ago. Today Google spots it and marks it down. Read the two paragraphs and you will see why for yourself.
How many people think it works
Looking for a hairdresser Graz? Our hairdresser Graz is the best hairdresser Graz for women’s haircut Graz. At the hairdresser Graz you get women’s haircut Graz, men’s haircut Graz and colouring Graz. Your hairdresser Graz looks forward to seeing you!
- Answers not one single question
- Does not say what it costs or how long it takes
- Reads as though nobody wrote it – because nobody did
How a person likes to read it
For a women’s haircut we take a full hour, talk the cut through with you first and work with silicone-free products. The salon is in Graz-Geidorf, and there are appointments on Saturday mornings too. A cut with a wash and blow-dry starts at 52 euros.
- Answers duration, place, price and appointment
- Contains “women’s haircut” and “Graz” – in passing, once
- Somebody who reads that picks up the phone
How the parts fit together
Five places that have to match
SEO is not a measure but an interplay. The same statement has to appear in several places at once – in the title, in the address, in the linking, in the copy and at the image. If one of them is missing, the others carry less.
-
1
The title
It sits in the browser tab – and as the blue heading in your Google listing. It is the first thing anyone reads about you, often before they have ever been on your site. Every page needs its own; thirty pages titled “Home” look to Google like the same thing thirty times over.
-
2
The address
From
/womens-haircut-graz/you can tell what is coming without clicking. From/index.php?p=47you cannot. Addresses last decades – which is why they are decided at the start and not touched afterwards. -
3
Navigation and internal links
How you link internally tells Google what matters to you. A page nothing links to is treated as though it did not exist. That is why every service gets its own page with its own menu entry – not a paragraph on a shared page.
-
4
Heading and copy
This is where the misunderstanding sits. It is not about fitting a word in as often as possible, but about answering the question somebody typed. Google now measures whether people go back after clicking – copy stuffed with keywords gives itself away.
-
5
File name and alt text
A search engine does not see an image. It reads the file name and the alt text – and that is also what a blind visitor has read out to them. Two reasons to get the same thing right.
IMG_4711.jpgmeets neither.
Where the figures come from
Without measurement it is all guesswork
Google and Microsoft tell you for free how they see your site. Most businesses do not know it exists – and optimise in the dark for years.
Google Search Console
Shows you which search terms people see your site for, what position you hold, and how often somebody clicks. It also reports which pages Google has not taken in at all, and why. This is the most important account you should own – not your agency.
Bing Webmaster Tools
Bing is small, but it supplies the results for Windows search, Yahoo and in part for AI answers. The tool is free, set up in ten minutes and overlooked almost everywhere – a rare case where little work genuinely achieves something.
Why this is not done once and then finished
SEO is a loop, not a project
Your competitors are working too. Google changes how it rates things several times a year. And what your customers search for shifts over time. So this is how it runs – over and over.
-
Look at where you stand
Which search terms already bring you anywhere near? Almost always they are different from the ones you would have expected – and that is exactly where the opportunity sits.
-
The nearest pages first
A page in 14th place needs little to reach 7th. One in 80th needs months. We start where the effect is largest in relation to the work.
-
Change it and publish
Titles, copy, headings, internal linking, images, loading time. Usually it is many small things and rarely one grand stroke.
-
Wait – and that is the hardest part
Google needs weeks before anything shows. Anyone who throws it all over again after ten days never measures whether something worked.
-
Measure again and start over
What worked, we do elsewhere too. What did not work, please tell me as well – I will certainly tell you.
And what is GEO?
When the answer is written instead of listed
More and more often somebody types a question and gets a finished paragraph instead of ten blue links – from ChatGPT, from Perplexity, or straight at the top of Google.
Then it is no longer only your position that decides, but whether you appear in that answer at all. It is called GEO, “generative engine optimisation”. It builds on SEO and does not replace it – but it additionally needs content that can be quoted.
Why this matters right now
There is a side effect hardly anyone has on their radar: someone whose question is already answered in the AI response clicks less often afterwards. On idigit.onl itself this is demonstrable – the guide articles have gained positions and still lost clicks. Anyone watching only their ranking sees that loss when it already hurts.
What it costs
Two ways, depending on how much you want to do yourself
Both run monthly – not because that suits me better, but because a one-off optimisation has worn off again within six months.
You do it
You write, I tell you what the problem is. For anyone who has the time but does not know where to start.
per month
You do it. I show you how, look it over, and stop you where it will not achieve anything.
- A monthly conversation about your figures
- A concrete list of what comes next
- I look at your copy beforehand
- Search Console and Bing set up
I do it
Ongoing optimisation, without you having to deal with it.
per month
The way in: two and a half hours a month, spent on whatever brings the most right now.
- Two and a half hours a month, applied where it has effect
- Titles, linking and technical faults
- Search Console set up and evaluated
- Your accounts stay yours
All prices net, plus 20 % VAT. Ongoing services have a three-month minimum term and extend by three months at a time; notice one month beforehand, effective at the end of a month. If two and a half hours a month is too little, there is SEO Standard with five hours, competitor monitoring and a monthly report from € 690 a month. Full scopes, including what is explicitly not included, are on the pricing page.
Frequent questions
What I get asked most often
“Search engine optimisation”.
It means everything that helps your site get found on Google without you paying for the click. So: copy that answers a question; readable addresses; sensible internal linking; properly named images; and measuring as you go.
First movement after four to eight weeks, reliably after three to six months. Longer on a new domain, often faster on an existing site with a history.
Anyone promising you four weeks is either selling you advertising under another name or does not know better.
No. Nobody can, and anyone who promises it is mainly telling you something about themselves.
Google decides the order, not me. What I can promise: that your site is technically sound, that the right search terms are covered, and that every month you can see where you stand. The rest is work and patience.
A plugin is a form. It asks you for a title and a description and shows a traffic light – it does not write the copy, and it does not know what Google makes of your site either.
It is useful all the same, and on WordPress I set one up. But a green light in the plugin and a place on page one have about as much to do with each other as a tidy desk and a finished set of accounts.
Yes, that is in fact the standard case. I also work on sites somebody else built – WordPress, Wix, Shopify or static.
Sometimes I find that the site itself is in the way, for instance because every service sits on one single subpage. Then I tell you before you pay for six months of care.
What has been done stays. Titles, copy, structure and linking belong to you and do not disappear with the notice.
Your Search Console and Bing accounts are in your name anyway – you revoke my permission and still have every figure. What stops is the ongoing work: after a few months without upkeep you slowly lose ground again, because others carry on.
Let us start by looking at where you actually stand.
Send me the address of your site and two sentences about what is not running smoothly. I will tell you whether a conversation is worth it at all – and so will you.
